Founded by tattoo artist and entrepreneur Smiley Rose Lewis, Lacrimae was created to bridge a gap within the tattoo industry — a space where products often prioritize either the artist’s experience or the client’s needs, but rarely both.
We believed there was room for something more.
Something that could elevate the artist’s process while providing the client with a luxurious experience from the first application through the healing journey.
Something beautiful. Something intentional. Something created without compromise.
And so, House of Lacrimae began.

As both a tattoo artist and a tattoo client, our founder understood the experience from both sides of the needle.
For the artist, every detail matters. The movement of the hand. The precision of each line. The flow of the creative process. The products used should complement that artistry, not complicate it.
For the client, the experience extends far beyond the tattoo chair. The care, comfort, and attention given to a tattoo are part of the story it carries.

Derived from the Latin word for tears, Lacrimae represents the beauty found within human expression.
Tears are more than a symbol of sadness. They represent passion, resilience, transformation, vulnerability, and the moments that shape us.
Much like tattoos, they tell stories that words sometimes cannot.
We believe beauty exists in every emotion, every transformation, and every mark we choose to carry.

For Smiley Rose Lewis, artistry has always been about more than what meets the eye.
As the founder of Krybabys Tattoo Studio and a passionate advocate for artistic expression, Smiley has built her career around challenging expectations, creating opportunities, and redefining what is possible within the beauty and tattoo industries.
Her experience as both an artist and a client inspired a vision for something that she felt was missing.
A product that didn’t force a choice between what worked for the artist and what felt exceptional for the client.
She wanted both.
She wanted to create something she would confidently use in her own tattooing process and choose for her own skin. Something that made an artist’s job easier, elevated the client’s experience, and treated the care of a tattoo as an extension of the artwork itself.
That vision became House of Lacrimae.
Built on years of firsthand experience, an appreciation for beautiful craftsmanship, and a refusal to settle for ordinary, Lacrimae represents a new chapter in her creative journey.
